BCH has developed a model of Innovation for working
together with everyone in the food supply chain, food
retailers, food manufacturers, Development Chefs’
Network and Universities.
BCH are involved in bringing interested parties together
to develop the next generation of machinery for the
food industry. One of the interested parties is the
Development Chefs’ Network and they have been
working with BCH to replicate an innovative, individual
chef-prepared meal for mass production.
This process commenced with both parties discussing
a ready meal recipe in detail so that BCH could develop
the most appropriate food engineering process solution
to achieve both presentation and quality of the meal
already prepared in a chef’s kitchen. The Chefs
and Process Engineers then carried out trials in the
BCH Innovation Centre to compare the final product tasting.
BCH believe it takes a lot more than a Centre full
of apparatus to produce a new and exciting piece of
equipment for the food and confectionery industries.
The key to any development is the knowledge base behind
the idea. With a product range dating back to 1835 and
a combined process knowledge base covering food, confectionery
and jam production totalling over 150 years we feel
confident in finding a solution to your problem.
Allied to our process knowledge is in house expertise
in electrical, software, engineering and an experienced
design team. The Innovation Centre not only has access
to this team but is also the focal point for the team
when developing products.
This knowledge is available to our customers when they
come to BCH to develop their own product solutions.
